Last week I took a quick trip to D.C. to see my favorite district resident, Sunny. We tried (& failed) to get into the Kusama exhibit at the Hirshorn, and tried (& succeeded) to get reading cards from the Library of Congress. The first time I visited her in D.C. we spent more time doing the big touristy stuff, the White House/Capitol Building/monuments, and at the time it surprised me that I was way more into it than I thought it would be. (Shocking how easy it can be to feel patriotic when your country is being run by a competent adult.) This time, the thought of walking through all that stuff was just depressing, so we went through some of the museums, the zoo, and the US Botanic Garden instead. As always, quality time with Sunny was the highlight.
